Otis
AuDHD, Tourettes / Tic
Hi, I’m Otis! I was born and raised in the North East, and Durham is my hometown—though I’d love to move to the countryside someday.
School wasn’t my favorite place growing up as I often found it overwhelming, and in my early years of secondary school, I developed tics that made me feel different from my peers. But I did love History and Food Tech! Now, I study graphic design at University.
I was a Peer Mentor throughout my time at Sixth Form which was a great experience. Art is my main special interest and I do mandala art in my spare time. During the pandemic, I started my own Etsy shop to sell my creations, which has been a great outlet for me. I’ve been a volunteer at a pet shelter since 2018, and over the years, I’ve also become a foster carer for cats.
I’ve always been passionate about the environment and have been a vegetarian for seven years. I even grow my own vegetables, although it can be a challenge with UK weather!
At Uncommon, my area is gaming! I’ve been into video games ever since I was a kid. My favorite Roblox game is Jailbreak, and I’m also a huge fan of Minecraft, The Sims 4, and Animal Crossing.
